Get to know this spoonie |
Welcome! My name is Kiley Reitano and I am an twenty-something year old from Boston, Massachusetts. I have been living with Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, and Hashimoto's for over four years now. These past four years have been the most influential parts of my life and through my illnesses I have found my purpose and passion. I want to help people who are fighting similar battles as I am every day.
I created this website because I truly have a lot to say about chronic illnesses and what it means to be a spoonie. |
"The Spoon Theory" is a theory used to measure the amount of energy someone with a chronic illness uses. It is a great way to visualize and help others understand your energy (or lack there of).
|
A spoonie is someone who lives with that chronic illness. They need to use "spoons" to get simple tasks done. Something as simple as brushing your teeth requires spoons. The amount of spoons it takes varies on the person and their condition.

C O P I N G
With a Chronic IllnessChronic illnesses are not things we plan to deal with in life and can really lead us to crossroads on where to continue. We don't always have the answers of where to go next but it is important to surround yourself with people who support you in your decisions and are positive portions of your life. My goal is to have this site be another form of support and positivity for spoonies providing healthy coping mechanisms.
